The Czech Statistical Office (CSO) publishes annually in accordance with the Act No. 89/1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service the so-called "Programme of Statistical Surveys" for the next calendar year (after prior approval by the Parliament of the Czech Republic). The decree establishing this programme is published in the Collection of Laws. Specifically Statistical survey programme for 2020 293/2019 Coll. of 6 November 2019 (see No. 125 of the Collection of Laws).
For each survey, the Programme specifies, inter alia, the range of reporting units to which the completion and submission of specific returns applies. The criterion for which returns a reporting unit will submit is its classification according to CZ-NACE (i.e. Classification of Economic Activities) and whether a particular survey is area or sample based.
The first information about the reporting obligation and the reports to be completed by the reporting unit comes from the Notification of Reporting Obligation letter sent by the CZSO to respondents at the beginning of the calendar year.
What reports your organisation must complete in a given year (including deadlines for completion and contact details of the relevant CSO staff), can also be found in the app "Statements by registration number", available at www.czso.cz/vykazypodleico. After entering the ID number, the current list of required reports will be displayed. Please note that the information in this application is continuously updated and that the determinant of the reporting obligation is the aforementioned Notification of the reporting obligation to the CZSO.
The CZSO allows most statistical reports to be filled in electronically via the on-line application DANTE WEB or an interactive PDF form. The possible ways of completing the report are described in more detail here.
