How we celebrated the round anniversary
There's always a reason to meet. If it's pleasantly warm outside, there's nothing missing for happiness... maybe just sitting with friends over a cold drink. And that's exactly the kind of informal gathering 20th birthday celebration Alpha Software.
Alfa was incorporated on August 12, 2003, so we planned the celebration for Friday 11 August 2023 with the expectation that it will end sometime after midnight, when Alpha is "born again". And where are we gonna have the party? At our place, preferably outdoors. The right place was the courtyard of the building Pražská 22 in Klatovy, where we have our offices and everyone is used to coming here to see us.
The birthday event turned out to be an amazing celebration! Over 80 guests confirmed their attendance, and in addition to Alphas and sales representatives, local suppliers and customers - users - were also invited. of our programmes. To our delight, former colleagues also came to have fun.

For the rain option we plan to use the shooting range restaurant located on the ground floor of the building. On Wednesday, when my colleagues and I are still taking over the drinks, the clouds are still gathering over us. On the way to the warehouse, the cartons of bubbles receive a hearty rain shower. We send our wishes for good weather to the sky and are answered! On Friday, August 11, the sky is already azure blue and the thermometer's mercury is climbing rapidly. On the eve of the event, we are setting up the folding tables and testing the yard lighting. This usually serves as a parking lot, but on Friday morning we "dress it up" in festive clothes, decorate it with flowers and start to enjoy it. Around 4:00, the first guests arrive and the celebration begins...

Summer and barbecue go together, so the grilled menu is the obvious choice. One grill was spinning a pork leg and a whole turkey, the other was preparing chicken skewers and pork neck steaks. Vegetarians also had their fill of cheese and vegetable salads. In the course of the evening (and the next day), two kegs of 12° Pilsner beer were tapped and the festive atmosphere was accentuated by drinks from Bohemia Sekt Starý Plzenec. Guests were welcomed with rosé or extra dry sparkling wine. Some colleagues misread the welcome sparkling wine announced in the programme as "welcome sex" and tried to push this innovation. The Alfa standard into its third decade remains "always giving a little more", but services of this kind are not yet in our portfolio. However, we have registered the request. 😀
Handsome hostesses served pink ICE on ice with mint and red fruit, lovers of drier wines were treated to Château Radyně sparkling wine and there was also non-alcoholic "bohemka" in stock so that the drivers would not miss a toast. The red and white decoration with flags and balloons created a summer atmosphere. Garden deck chairs were inviting for comfortable seating and guests were entertained by a photo corner full of funny gadgets and walking balloons in the shape of flamingos.

Although August 12 is the birthday of a limited liability company Limitedbut still, many of our guests have expressed Unlimited imagination and brought creative birthday gifts. It was an honour for me to assist the managing director Eva Maurer in unpacking them. In addition to flowers and bottles of wine, Alfa received an original first aid kit full of teas and sweets from Klatovy Hospital and many other interesting gifts, such as a festive candle in glass, which does not break even when dropped on the stone pavement, which we immediately tried. A practical gift was a box of cups and saucers from Susik PAP Packaging a.s. and finally we unwrapped the big flat gift that turned out to be the players' jerseys SK INDIANS. Washed and cleverly pressed into the form of a picture, so that it does not dust. Thanks again to all donors!
I'M SORRY!
The celebration was in the spirit of meeting old friends, but it was also about getting to know each other who often know each other only by phone. There was chatting, eating, toasting and dancing. DJ Zdenek invited the guests to dance and a prize was announced for the first entry on the dance floor. The prize was danced by a quartet of cheerful payroll accountants, female users* from several Klatovy organizations. After dark, when we turned on the lights and lit the candles, the dancing was like a lifetime. There was a "solo for parents" - the founder of Alfa Software Mgr. Eva Maurerová and Ing. Vladimír Kozák. They blew off the 20 years as fast as candles on a chocolate cake. After saying birthday card were both awarded medals and a trophy for perseverance.
Stylish inflatable flamingos also joined the bustle on the dance floor. After a few songs, the bigger of the two dropped his legs and, full of impressions and helium, unexpectedly quickly flew up into the darkness. The smaller flamingo followed, sent on a flight path by our technician's shoe. We would have liked to soar as well, but we know humans are not cut out for flight, so at least we kept ourselves in an uplifting mood with a steady stream of liquid bubbles.
The announced "surprise after dark" was the fire show of the ARTEGO Vimperk group. A fire extinguisher was on hand just in case, and when it looked like one of the performers was going to catch fire, he put the fire down and projected the Alfa Software logo into the darkness with a game of lightsabers. The fun, singing and toasts continued until 3am when we said our goodbyes and locked the entrance doors of the Shooting Range passage. We made a celebratory mark on two decades of the company. What will be the third decade of Alfa Software? We hope the CEO's wish comes true: "May she be healthy, successful and keep going!"
The guests received a gingerbread twenty as a gift and I believe that besides the gingerbread and good mood, they also took away from the celebration a sense of togetherness and a positive experience of a pleasant meeting.
